Privacy Policy

The short version: We collect only what we need to run the service. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We never will.

1. Who We Are

Tight Bid, LLC ("we", "us", "our") is a Georgia limited liability company that operates TightBid, a service that helps buyers evaluate storage unit auctions using AI analysis. We operate the TightBid Chrome extension and the web application at app.tightbid.com.

2. What We Collect

We collect only the minimum information required to provide the service:

Account information — your email address and a hashed password when you sign up.
Billing information — payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage data — which listings you analyze, how many analyses you've run, and your credit balance. This is required to enforce your plan limits.
Saved listings — auction listing data you choose to save (location, size, bid amount, analysis text). Stored so you can access your saved analyses from any device.
Extension settings — preferences such as your home address (used only to calculate driving distances within the extension). Stored locally in your browser via Chrome's sync storage and not transmitted to our servers.

We do not collect browsing history, data from pages you visit outside of supported auction sites, or any information beyond what is described above.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect solely to:

Operate the service and authenticate your account.
Process your subscription and enforce plan limits (credits, follow-ups).
Store and retrieve your saved analyses.
Respond to support requests.
Send essential transactional emails (e.g. password reset, payment receipts). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit opt-in.

4. What We Do Not Do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party — ever. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with ad networks, data brokers, or marketing platforms.

5. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate TightBid. Each receives only the minimum data necessary:

Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Anthropic — AI analysis of listing content and images. Listing data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate analysis. Governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Railway — our backend and database hosting. Data is stored in the United States.

We do not use analytics platforms, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and saved analyses within 30 days, except where required for legal or billing purposes. You can delete individual saved analyses at any time from within the extension or your dashboard.

7. Security

We store passwords using one-way hashing (bcrypt). Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We take reasonable precautions to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

TightBid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

9. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@tightbid.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or by a notice in the app before the changes take effect.
